Of starting a new chapter in life

So I decided to pay my blog a visit today and just realized how lazy Ive been in updating it. The last post that I made was 1/21/10. and that was freaking 10 MONTHS ago! Cant blame me though, after all, do you really think a 22 years old guy that has commitments (girlfriend, football, job, fb (lol) would update his blog everyday? Anyway, starting today I think I wanna start taking blogging more seriously as I think I need to
have at least some sort of diary of my life journey.

That being said, 10 months have past by and a lot has happened ever since. I can now proudly (sort of) say i'm not a student anymore. Sure, there are no more exams, no more homeworks, no more quizzes but yeah the time for hanging out, watch movies, or just plain smoking some shisha while watching football on Sundays is also in the past now. Happy? no. Sad? no. Utterly shocked on the new environment in front of me? Probably yes. Well, whatever the feeling is, I still have to swallow it as life has to go on. They say life is a journey and not a destination. Only now I can see the truthfulness of that statement.

So after graduating for about 2 months (5/14/2010), Ive finally won myself a job with Sapuracrest under its subsidiary TL Offshore Sdn. Bhd. The name of the company pretty much explains my work description has it not? Maybe. Anyway, TLO is a main contractor for offshore installation projects. In short, we set up platforms and lay underwater pipelines for our clients. To be honest, I never thought i would have gone to the oil and gas industry let alone working for a contractor. But its okay I guess. I am still an engineer afterall. A field engineer that is.

Well, dont want to make this a long post. I'll keep you guys updated from time to time. Until then, let me throw in some of my graduation pictures since I haven't posted any in this blog yet.

Thanks mom and dad for coming!

And you too love, thanks for coming!

Peace and take care.

Start of the final semester of college

Yes, Ive finally arrived at the finish line and all that is left
is to cross it. Its the final semester of college. It may not be the final semester of me studying because I may enter graduate school in the future, but at least for now the thought that i will be in a graduation robe with my friends and family always give me the jitters everytime i think about it.
This also means that i will only be here for another 4 months
which makes me sad in a way but also at the same time kinda happy because i will be reunited with my family in less than a year. For sure, i will miss America and also the Americans. I will miss being able to travel without my parents holding me back. I will miss working at the reeve desk (not). I will miss studying in the fish bowl (if you know what im saying) with my civil friends. I will miss playing indoor soccer at the rec center. There are just too many things that i will miss and i dont think i can list all of them here. One thing im really sure i will not miss is doc. V. Haha. Well, its not fair to bad talk about him all the time because he did help me a lot along the way. So, credits to Doc. V for helping us. But Doc. V, next time..plz be less annoying okay?

This semester's schedule is not that bad compared to the previous semesters. Im only taking 9 hours and one of the classes is for pass fail credit. So it doest burden me a lot. I do work a lot this semester though, 3 shifts of reeving and maybe around 6 to 8 hours
of grading every week. Well, this is the last chance i will be able to make a lot of money in one hour out of a part time job, so, i might as well take this opportunity to the fullest.

So heres a list of the things that i wanna do before i come back to malaysia. ill give you updates on the progress of these things in the future.

1. Finish up my semester strong and get a magna cum laude.
2. Win a medal in the midwest games
3. Finish up P90X WITH the desired result.
4. SECURE MYSELF A JOB
5. Mardi Gras anyone?
6. Attend my best friend's wedding :D
7. Score a touchdown in intramural flag football
8. Buy a horse? hehe

I think thats enough for now. Dont want to get overwhelmed too early :P . Wish me luck!

Its the big day fellas!

- of working night shift on party nights -

So as usual I have to work at Branscomb Desk from Thursday night to Friday morning, things get a little bit out of hand here especially when there are parties at the fraternity/sorority row.Unfortunately, that is the case tonight. Good thing I got no homework to do.

So there was this one time, 2 weeks ago if im not mistaken, i took a 5 minute break from reeving and i was on my way to Shah's house at Scales and there was this guy who was really wasted and drunk. He was hitting on a girl who was studying but of course, the girl ignored him. He got upset and started walking off swaying left and right and suddenly he dropped his wallet to the ground. He bent down to reach his wallet and all of a sudden he lost his balance and tumbled forward and hit his head on the wall. It was freaking hilarious. He sat on the floor for a while trying to figure out what happened. At that point, I was really trying so hard to not laugh at him but eventually I did so I ran away from that place to avoid him from noticing and pissing him off. People do stupid things when they drunk, better not make them mad.

You got that right Mr. Mackey

And just moments ago, I had this guy who lost his vandy card and his room key and he came to me saying that he needed to get into his room really bad because he needed to take his medicine. He said it was a matter of life and death and asked to tell the RA to come and help him quickly. I did not know if I should believe him but nonetheless, I still called the RA and asked him to hustle up a bit. After about 2 minutes, a couple came to me and borrowed my laptop to order pizza, and the guy who was locked out earlier thought that they were the RAs. So this guy figured out that it would be funny to pull a prank on him and so he told that poor guy that he was an RA. He bought it and right away he told that guy that he was desperate and really needed to get into his room. It wasn't long until he knew that he was not talking to and RA because the couple were laughing at him. Things got pretty tensed after that. The two guys were about to fight but the security guards quickly interfered and at the same time, the RA came. If there were no guards and RA at that time, I'm pretty sure somebody will get a black eye.

Yeah, a lot will happen if you reeve during 'party hours'. I personally kinda like it because it becomes some sort of entertainment to me. As long as they don't bug me, they can be as ridiculous as they want =P

Reeving

Because i am reeving now and i don't really have anything to do..let me talk about the most popular job among the Malaysians students at Vandy.

1. the most awesome job on campus - around 8 bucks per hour doing nothing but smile to people who enters the building.
2. you really don't want to do it but usually its just to tempting (you always want free money after all)
3. if you are lucky..you will come across drunk people and they will entertain you!
4. lower your gpa (thats what doc v think)
5. raises your gpa (thats what i think)
6. if you need a sub ask fadhe or hidayah syukor..hehe

all and all, reeving is a really good way to earn money on campus. It's really easy but it RUINS YOUR SOCIAL life. lol
